It has always been hard to picture myself not living in Orange County. The weather alone is reason enough to want to stay in Orange County forever. But a few years ago I fell in love with a little place called Redlands… and boy do I want to go back. As you might have seen, I made my way up to Big Bear last weekend. Coincidently, to get to Big Bear I had to pass through Redlands… and on my way home.. once again. I felt inspired in many ways as I drove through Redlands, especially from a photographic standpoint, and even made it a point to stop by an old grubbing station.. El Burrito.. just so I can spend a little time there. As I got back on the freeway and headed to Orange County it felt like I was leaving home. Even though I technically never lived there, my wife did for 2 years, and I feel like we planted a strong seed there. For financial reasons, we made our way “home” to Orange County, but I hope one day soon we’ll continue what we started in good ol’ Redlands.
We headed up to Big Bear this past weekend for a much anticipated friendcation. Thirteen people under one roof… in 3 bedrooms… for 2 nights. And it was everything I thought it was going to be. As much as I would have loved to, I made it a point to NOT take my camera with me so I could enjoy my time socializing. However, I did manage to sneak a few quick snapshots with my iPhone :).
